Mr. Lewis Fuller, a Registered Respiratory Therapist, and Directory of Respiratory Therapy at then Baptist Medical Center, founded Fuller Medical in 1974. Mr. Fuller saw the need for more specialized professional service when dealing with patients being released from area hospitals and needing continued care in the home setting.

In October 1974, operating from his basement, Mr. Fuller began delivering and setting up home oxygen therapy to patients with chronic respiratory illnesses. His love and dedication led to the opening of Fuller Medical Company on Broad Street in Gadsden Alabama in December 1981. In the early 1990s Mr. Fuller expanded his coverage area by opening a branch of Fuller Medical in Albertville Alabama. In 2001 Fuller Medical moved to it's present location on South 4th street, next to the Gadsden Mall. In September of 2006 Mr. Tony Rollins, also a Registered Respiratory Therapist joined the staff of Fuller Medical as Operations Manager.

Today, Fuller Medical Company employees a workforce of 19 individuals each specializing in their areas of Customer Service, Patient Service, and Insurance Billing to name only a few areas of operation.
